New Mexico Biodiversity Collections Consortium

WNMU vertebrate collections are searchable through the New Mexico Biodiversity Collections Consortium (NMBCC). The goal of NMBCC is to increase the availability of information concerning New Mexico biodiversity.

Dale A. Zimmerman Herbarium

Established in 1957, collections include over 35,000 plant specimens with 30,000 from New Mexico and Arizona.

The Research Collection supports recent monographic studies of the Vascular and BryoFloras of New Mexico, as well as several studies in the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, City of Rocks State Park, and Municipal Flora of Silver City.

The Teaching Collection (>2,000 vascular plant specimens) supports several WNMU courses, including Dendrology, Plant Taxonomy, and Range Vegetation.
